Name:Yvonne Dittrich
Bio:

Yvonne Dittrich has been researching cooperative and human aspects of software engineering (CHASE) and use-oriented design and development of software since the 90s. She holds a M.Sc. from the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany. Her PhD dissertation, submitted at Hamburg University, combined theory and methods from social sciences and computer science. Since 1997, she has been working on empirical studies, often in collaboration with industrial partners, first at the Blekinge Institute of Technology, Sweden, and since 2003 at the IT University of Copenhagen, Denmark. Yvonne developed a novel research approach, Cooperative Method Development, that combines ethnographically inspired qualitative empirical research and participative action research. Her interest in use-orientation has resulted in contributions to the end-user development and participatory design communities. Among her current interests are development practices in software product ecosystems, especially in collaboration between end-user developers and professional software engineers around the implementation and evolution of software products. Yvonne has been, together with Cleidson de Souza and Helen Sharp, among the core organizers of the CHASE series of workshops at the International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE) since 2008. She has contributed to establishing the topic in the software engineering and CSCW communities by editing Special Issues in the Journal of CSCW and the Information and Software Technology Journal.
